Application integrity

Your application must be accurate and complete. Do not misrepresent your identity, age, school, grade, guardian contact information, accomplishments, experiences, or circumstances.

Each response must reflect your own experiences, thinking, and writing. You may use ordinary spell-check, but you may not submit text generated, materially rewritten, paraphrased, or composed by generative AI, a parent, tutor, consultant, peer, or another applicant. Ask TORCH about an approved accommodation if you need help participating in the application process.

Respectful and safe participation

These standards begin when you apply. Communicate respectfully with TORCH staff and other applicants. Do not harass, threaten, discriminate against, impersonate, or retaliate against anyone. Do not share sign-in links or codes, and report a safety concern or uncomfortable interaction to TORCH promptly.

If selected, you will also follow the full Code of Student Conduct, the program handbook, and lawful staff safety directions during TORCH activities. Those participant documents are completed separately with your Parent/Guardian.

How TORCH responds to concerns

TORCH may pause review, ask questions, request an original rewrite or follow-up conversation, or withdraw an application when there is a credible integrity or conduct concern. TORCH will not treat an automated AI-detection result as conclusive on its own.
